Буквально «двенадцать благородных мужчин и истина». На русский язык это словосочетание переводится как «присяжные». Никто точно не знает, почему в английском правосудии существует именно двенадцать присяжных, хотя есть предположение, что это связано с двенадцатью учениками Христа или с двенадцатью коленами Израиля, но возможно, имеются в виду и знаки зодиака.
